According to the World Wildlife Fund, Nepal is home to over 10,000 species of plants and animals, including over 200 species of mammals, 800 species of birds, and 1,000 species of butterflies. However, many of these species are threatened or endangered due to habitat loss and degradation.

Food and accommodation

You will receive three meals daily and accommodation in a hostel or host family. You are responsible for any additional dietary requirements.

First and third Mondays of each month.

Schedule and commitments

The program and responsibilities for this project will depend on what you’re doing. However, you can expect to work at least 4 hours daily, five days weekly.

Typical day

A typical day as a volunteer on this project might include the following:

• Waking up early and eating breakfast
• Heading out to the field to work on conservation activities
• Returning to the hostel or host family for lunch
• Taking a break in the afternoon
• Returning to the area to work on conservation activities
• Returning to the hostel or host family for dinner
• Relaxing in the evening

On Arrival Training

Upon arrival in Nepal, you will participate in a two- to three-day orientation program. This program will cover project goals, safety, health, and culture.

You will be supported by a team of experienced staff who will provide guidance and support throughout your project. You will also have access to various resources, including books, websites, and experts.

Project Locations

This project will occur in various locations in Nepal, including the outskirts of Kathmandu, Okhaldhunga, and Nuwakot.
